Which 1911 do I have?

I'm new to these 1911's. I love the way this one shoots. I would like to know more about it, besides it's well used and has ugly rubber grips. If anyone knows anything about this, could you please chime in? It's an alloy frame, not sure what the black coating is. I believe it's stainless barrel and slide.

Okay, emailed SA, here is what they said:

"Based on the serial number you provided, your pistol shipped on 6/30/2004 as a Standard lightweight bi-tone model with night sights, (PX9104L)."

Got my info now, and it is an aluminum frame, being the lightweight model. Just want to know what coating was applied to it as it is chipped and scratched in places. Could I just cover those with some black nail polish?

Probably a proprietary recipe of KG Products Gunkote.
Any satin-finish black paint would suffice for touch-up.

I've used Birchwood Casey black touchup pens in the past with good result, though likely there are cheaper options too.

I've never used the touch-up pens. Are they paint? If they are a version of cold bluing, they won't work on aluminum.

Not a bad old Springer. Hope you enjoy the he'll out it and you don't have to worry about putting the first scratch on it.

Thanks! Oh, and about the scratch, lol, i'm polishing her up right now. Taking her slide through the grits. I'm gonna wait on the frame. I'll post some pics when I'm done!

Now, on to the smaller things, trigger, new sights (cause I boogered the front sight), some type of frame cleanup, etc...

When looking for parts for this 1911, all I can find that are close are for Kimber. Are these the same? For instance, sights, can't find anything that's specifically listed as SA.

Rear sight is Novak, and everyone makes a sight that fits the Novak dovetail.
Front sight should use the Novak dovetail, too.
Springfield uses a beavertail with the Clark/Wilson frame radius, which limits alternatives, but no big deal.
Thumb safeties should be interchangeable across the board.

Birchwood Casey makes a cold-blue type of product which is for aluminum. I just used it recently and a shiny scratch became dark blue.
