Whew..I got lucky

Went to a gun show this weekend, and took one of my "extra" rifles with me in case I saw something that wouldn't be 'extra"...I found a rifle I have wanted for some time, but never got around to purchasing especially when they were dirt cheap...A CETME......I traded for it, I came out maybe a little on the wrong side of the trade, a 180 series Mini-14 that I didnt realluy care for.

Knowing full well, the century Cetme reputation, I checked it out , seemed ok...and took it home. Cleaned and lubed and off to the range we went.
I brought 120 rounds of Wolf .308, as I know these things bang the heck out of brass and fling it to the next county, I didn't want to use good brass.

120 rounds, no failures at all. all of the spent shells looked normal. I wasn't shooting for accuracy, just for function, but I was hitting an 8x11 sheet of paper off hand at 100 yards, so, I dont think it will be too horrible.

So I got lucky, kind of like winning the lottery, it seems Century built a working rifle!!! And I gotta say....I LOVE IT.

They're generally good reliable rifles, that tend to destroy brass. Good choice with the cheap Russian steel stuff. Just don't take it if a good friend will be on the bench next to you, the muzzle-brake blast is horrible on them.

Great rifle. Reliable, cheap magazines, and lots of aftermarket parts.

I never really was interested in them until I picked up one real cheap. Its one of my favorite shooters.

The muzzle blast is pretty intense though.
