I took the pictures through the window.

Oh thats just a cute little feller just go on the porch waving a shovel and tell him to G I TT!

That's a young, immature bear. You can tell by the relationship of the size of the ears to the size of the rest of the scull. A big mature bear will have ears that look small in relation to the rest of the head.

Mature or not... the .444 Marlin would be smoking. Not trying to be all scared & stuff, just wouldn't want my son being eaten by a bear while he's playing in the yard...

We get delivery here too :) them deer and turkeys come right up to the deck at times. Well usually after I throw out some grain....

Food delivered right to your door, cant beat it.

Banging a baking pan is enough to get ride of that bear. If someone would be worried about it then call game commission. They'll take it somewhere else. ;)

Not any I've eaten. Some put it in stew or chili's but thats just covering up the taste, IMHO.
I have had bad venison too, depends on how the meat was prepared and the cook. I have been lucky I guess. I haven't had any bad bear.

Is bear meat good?

I ain't ever had any that was good. Guy at work shot a big black bear, was 22 inches between the ears. Some of the other guys tried it, but nobody liked it.

I had farm raised bear at a high dollar eatery one time, and it was similar to that Goodyear tire jglespring mentioned, only there was some great blackberry sauce they tried to cover up the bear taste with.
For $35 it was like $1 per blackberry and the bear meat was free. :barf:

Like any other game, bear meat can be great or terrible. Most of it depends on how it is stored, cut, and prepared. Most of what I have eaten has been delicious.
