Tango Yankee, gents!
My first M70 was done by a shop in the 70's.
Now I know enough to get dangerous! I did make a new 3P stock for my Annie, and incorporated aluminum pillars to give good compression against and modified the front pillar to have a lip that replaced the lump of bedding in the original prone stock.
Also, bedded the barrel seperately and as the compound set, turned the barrel/stock up-side down, allowing the barrel hang allowing the bedding to flow and harden. When in use the barrel has to flex over that "riser" and seems to give consistent grouping.
