Where to lay down your Pistol if you are at work.

Being a Civilian I just want to know what is the best way to keep our gun while we are at the office.

I feel not good tucking it on my waist to avoid being seen accidentaly by customers. Would it be better to be just inside the clutch bag or just on the right side drawer of the table.

I am bringing my gun at my work for the purpose of self defense against holduppers or other BG's entering my shop.

Thanks,

Find a method to confortably and securely conceal it on your person. If it is seen by a customer inform them it is there for their protection as well as your own.

Giving us a description of where you work would help a little. I carry a pocket gun when I simply can't carry my .45. It's on me every day, M-F. A co-worker looking for a pencil in your drawer could squeal and get you fired if you put it in your drawer and went to the can and forgot...no this isn't that rediculous! Just carry it on you.

If you wear a barong, easy to carry it at all times, like Gunslinger says, tis for the customer's protection as well as yourself.

Gunslinger, Frontsight: Thanks for your good advise. You have a good insight that it must really necessary to have the gun always on the waist while at work just in case of emergency.

Due to the current law of my country as of now, we are given permit to travel our weapon from residence to the designated areas only particularly on Target Ranges. Because my Internet Cafe shop is along the road which is also going to one of my GunClub range, I am bringing it with me at work everyday to be use also as self defense but I am following the Permit paper that the gun should be traveled not loaded (but I see to it that the mags are just near to access in case it is necessary to use it.)

For al your info! Philippine National Police might have just issued more or less than 100 people having permit to carry right now. The only way we can get permit to travel is we are gun club members and we need to have practice at the range from time to time showing that our pistols are not sleeping, and we are really capable to handle them.

Thanks,

C.R.SAM, good advise but I am not use to wear a barong tagalog (only the Presidential guards oftenly use it), that is so much formal to wear. By the way, I only use barong tagalog when I graduated in elementary, High School, Colege and during my church wedding.

Thanks for all your good advises.

Your best bet, if you can do it, is to get a small gun safe, and attach it to a desk or table in your office.

(By this, I mean one of the secure but easy-to-open, large cigar-box sized safes. Here in the US they sell for $100-$200, depending upon how fancy you want to get.)

I have one of these bolted to the floor in my bedroom, near the bed. Easy to open (press three buttons in a special sequence), and the gun is loaded and ready to go when I grab it.

Perhaps someone can fabricate something for you, there, of steel, that wouldn't be easily broken into. And have it near you.

With a proper holster and the right choice of attire you'll have little trouble concealing a pistol. Most Internet cafes I've visited tend to have very casual attire for their employees. Since you're the owner you might set that casual standard to allow for dress with untucked shirts.

Keep your pistol loaded. if the Philippines is anything like other developing countries I've visited cops won't hasle you with many questions after a defensive shooting. The level of forensic science and the expense of the same means that likely no one will ever know if you had a loaded pistol on you or if you ran for a mag while under attack. Keep your facts straight and you won't get hassled. As well, correct me if I'm wrong, but if you know the local police chief chances are you won't be bothered with a long investigation.

So many pistols, so little money.

Walt and Tecolote, thanks for the advises.

I'm sorry I haven't respond on your replies for I was out of town for the past few days.

Thanks again for the good advises, and I really keep loaded my pistol while I am at work for unexpected eventualities.
