where to hide ar-15 in truck

ok guys need some ideas,why do you ask i would carry such heavy weapon as my primary there is a lot of crime(kidnaping ,murder,robbers. corrupt cops, help all these guys out) in my country and it been getting worse a normal hand gun doesnt do it any more.forgive my english.

When I was a kid there was another kid who had his shotgun placed in a rack right above his head. All he had to do was reach his hands up and pull it out of the rack and the barrel was already pointing out the window.

the racks that work in conjunction with the visors will generally only work if you dont have all those storage compartments that come on a lot of veh (sun glasses holder, garage door opener etc etc)


this one requires drilling into the roof, but if you live in such a bad area, simply drilling into your vehicle wont make you cringe like it does to me.

either one still doesnt give you carjacking draw speed, i keep a pistol in my cup holder, thats about a quick as i can get. Remember tho if you can escape/evade thats the best option. However if you do get into a choke point then by all means give em a quick 30 rounds of 55 grain ball ammo through your windshield, hey you dont need hearing to be on TFL :)

I see the point of not being able to access the gun quickly, but the problem is the sometimes the cops tell the criminal what your caring and that’s the problem. I also carry walther p99 .40 and a .38spl smith & Wesson bodyguard as a backup. It’s like I live in war zone, I don’t like to say bad things about my country but its true, unemployment corruption have caused this this to get really bad in the last five years. You know what the funny thing is one would think it would be because of the drug lords but it’s not am not saying they have nothing to do with some of the crime but the real problem are political and cops one of the real nasty bands here are ex cops turned hit man. They also have active cops as hit man they’ll pull you over and kill in some places in my country you will get killed over a cell phone or worst for not carrying money. I tell you this so you have an idea what am facing. Most of the times murders are related to drugs, but this band do not respect anything you can’t go out with your girlfriend or wife because one of these guys sees her and likes her they’ll send one of his gungs to harass you or even kill. It’s been getting really stressful that’s why am so paranoid.
 
the gun rack is way cool, I thinking of making a cover for it but it will probably be to Suspicious. I been thinking of modifying the center console. I’ll tell you what type of truck I drive so you have some idea where could I stash the weapon and still have quick access a 2009 Nissan frontier crew cab.
 
this post makes me lulz. where do you live? active cops as hitmen? to kill you for you girlfriend? sweet lord she must be a hot one.

It’s no joke, it sounds funny but it’s true only if you lived here you would understand. I know it sound like something out of a movie but it’s not. I live in third world country if you don’t know and poor as hell. But wouldn’t live any were else. Most of the thing that happen here stay under the radar. Hell a lot of tourist from the us and other parts don’t think its that funny when there taxi driver steals at gun point all their money and passports.tell the cop and see if theyll help you it not that funny any more.
 
This may not help, but what measures have you taken to protect the truck?

Trucks are easily stolen, and then you have lost a nice rifle.

Why not install a short barrel and turn the thing into an AR-15 pistol, which you can carry with you in a backpack or shoulder bag.

Also a good place for spare magazines.

And if you are really desperate, you can research Gecko45... :)
 
Yeah already did that have a tactical stock and a 12 inch barrel, thats a good idea. I carry the thing in my car in the passenger side have a permit to carry. but don’t trust the police. ive been more paranoid lately because a few weeks ago a good friend of mine who would also carry his riffle in the car got killed. Some people say the police stopped him and took him. Sometimes there just normal criminal that get uniforms but when there a police car you know they have something to do with it.at first nobody knew if it was a kidnap or some else they found the car the next day to days later found my friend near a river restrained and shot several times and he was no criminal probably did just to take his weapons and money still nobody’s knows (he was 24).im not saying that all the cops in my country are corrupt but there are more bad than good.
 
Why not toss it on the rear passenger floor and throw a dark cloth over it? You can quickly reach it, and it will be out of sight to casual lookie-loos.
 
They make you get out of the car and search it’s illegal to search without a warrant here but if they know you’re carrying and you opposed them they probably shoot on the spot and say you pulled out your gun. Most of the police here dint Finnish grade school only officers have higher education and there not the ones pulling you over. What do you think of modifying the dash board I know a simple solution would be to armor the car but don’t have that much money.and in advance thank you for taking the time to help and your ideas:)
 
Won’t say the name because don’t want to give my country a bad rep (I know some of the thing sound awful). I know thing will get better or hope they will. Just be careful if you travel to Central America. The sad thing it dint use to be like this, it a beautiful country full of potential it’s hard to believe its been getting out of hand there still many nice people but you can’t know who to trust.

Trust me you got Mexicans Columbians Cubans and a lot of people of my country doing some pretty nasty stuff
