I've got a 6" GP and since I'm not getting any younger I would like to replace at least the front sight. It's just plain black.Where
or who can I easily get sights from at a decent price? Thanks- goodshot
I have a four-inch GP100 (the KGP-141 model). May I suggest three options to improve the front sight?
1) Ruger makes a pack of plastic "day glow" front sights for about $10. These are easily "dropped in". These sights are cheap -- plastic -- but the colors are much better than the GP100's flat black (under many light conditions).
2) Ruger also makes a "drop in" metal "gold dot" sight for its revolvers. The cost is about $15.
3) Finally, you gunsmith may be able to add either a gold dot or a high-intensity "day glow" color to the trailing edge of your GP100's existing black metal sight. This approach offers the advantage of not having to re-zero the weapon after installation of a new front sight.
Williams makes a "Firesight" for the GP, you've probably seen the type on shotguns, bright glowing plastic bar. Suggested retail $39.95. www.williamsgunsight.com
Brownells has a sight insert kit.Order in a number of colors. You cut out a notch in the front sight and the material goes into that.Did a ruger 22 cal about 20 yrs ago and still ok.
