I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the page that you list for Jersey City Armory is obsolete, and the prices listed haven't been honored for many months...HOWEVER, they still offer some excellent buys in guns and my experience with them has been great (I bought 4 guns from them last year). See their new page at
www.jcarmory.com

They also are shipping domestically by USPS which save the buyer some bucks!

Bryoon, where do you live in SoCal ? In L.A. I haven't found any dealers that stock Springfield. If your in L.A., try B&B. They have really good prices on Kimber, Sig, H&K, and S&W. Turners is a ripoff. Best gun prices tend to be in Oxnard and Bakersfield which for some reason, have an abundant amount of gun shops, and might possibly stock Springfield. Anyone else know of good gunstores in SoCal ? What about Siegals in the Bay area, any experience with them ?

Muscles:

What particular shops in Oxnard are you referring to? I have friends in Oxnard that I frequently visit, and I'd like to stop by and check out their prices.

You're right about B&B. Good prices! Pretty knowledgeable guys, too.

bryoon:

Beware - shopping from out-of-state FFLs isn't as cheap as you think it is! Yes, you can find great prices on guns and save a lot of money (on the gun) - but don't forget you are still responsible to pay transfer fees, shipping, DROS fees, and CA state tax. I saw an HK USP .45 for $100 less than I could find here in SoCal, but after calculating all of the costs to get it here, it actually ended up costing $24 more! And I didn't even get to inspect the gun beforehand!

If you are shopping in Bakersfield I would highly reccomend Second Amendment Sports.
The other store that I know of in Bakersfield is Valley Guns IMHO stay away from these guys...I have been there twice and trust me the second time was under force from a friend :) Valley guns treated me like S*hit and there prices are drastically over what you will pay at SAS.

Hey all,

I've seen a couple of ppl recommending Dr. Avery (hope I'm spelling the name correctly) as someone who's good to deal with. Just out of curiosity, does he have a webpage and does he sell through FFL out of state?

Thanks!

PS. the weekend is almost here! yeah!

Thank you guys for your replies. I am going to hit the gun shop this weekend. I will go check out b&b and arrowhead outdoor in westminster, ca. If I have time I might go visit bakersfield next weekend.
Thank you again.
Brian

Dr Avery does sell out of state. He even advertises in Gun List, but his prices there are $10-$20 higher than what he sells for at gun shows in Texas. He is great to deal with, I have bought many guns from him. If you call for a price quote tell him, or his wife Pat, that 'a friend' saw the gun at a gun show in Texas so he will quote the lower price. Tell him Jeff from Austin says hi.
