Where to find HK P7s?

I've always wanted to get a P7 but could never bring myself to pay the tariff. Now, however, I find the urge almost irresistable. So, the question is: where to find them and which to get? Are the factory refurbed ones still floating around? Anyone know who's got them? If so, how good are they?

I believe that Midwest Gun Exchange is advertising P7s for $899 but I'm unfamiliar with this company. Any info?

"Fountain Firearms" in Houston had a few in the $600 and $700 range. Do a search on the web for their site addy.

They are very pleasant to deal with.

They even have some refurbs, which are essentailly brand new pistols returned from some European police agencies when they did not use them. They were returned directly to HK and passed through their Quality Inspection program again. Full warranties, the whole works.

I have seen lots of these hit the Houston arwea about 6 months ago. Get em if you can!

HK Sterling does not honor the "warranties". I would be sure to verify the background of a refurb; they may be unused, unissued guns or they may simply have been trades that were reblued and had a couple of springs replaced.

A new P7M8 can be had for $1,100, so I would not spend more than $700 for a refurb, even it you could verify that it was unused, unissued.

Since you've already made the decision to buy the best carry pistol EVER MADE, it probably isn't worth it to pass up NIB and get a refurb just to save $2-300. Lightly used commercial guns are hard to find now, if it's feasible, I'd buy new.

The refurb P7's are not bad at all...I got one from Nationwide Jewelry and Pawn in Columbus GA for $700. If you are interested, their number is 706-687-7075.

No warranty for the refurbs, of course.

Fantastic pistol.

I've been to fountain firearms. They are nice people to deal with. They don't have any NIB P7M8s but they do have a NIB P7PSP. They have refurb. M8s and two used M8s.

I have a PSP-European mag release and love it. It is in my opinion the best version for concealment as it has no protruding devices and is slim and sleak. The M13 is just to big. Its fat, bulky and bigger than most 45's and its magazines cost big bucks. The M8 is the same size as the PSP but has what I feel is a poorly designed American style mag release. And it sticks out. Be advised that M8's are more common and that an M8 mag will not interchange with a PSP and vice versa. All of the P7 series guns I have owned are excellent firearms I just prefer the PSP-and with a little practice the European Mag release can be mastered with little trouble.

I also got one of the refurbished P7M8's. I can tell you that I am extremely satisfied with it. The pistol feels like it is brand new (really tight), and it shoots really nicely and accurately. Not a single problem yet. The springs and all are all in new condition.

I was a little uneasy about the lack of a warranty as well, and explained this to my friendly local gunshop. Since I give them so much business, the owner said that if I had any problems with it, they would take it back or fix it. Can't beat that.

Incrusion,I dont really know how cheap you can get one for.I really have only seen 3 or 4 in my day.My boss might think about making a deal on it,just have to catch him in a good mood. The P7 is a neat little gun but I believe its more of a european thing.Thats probably why there hard to find atleast in the US.The USP's were designed for americans and take after the 1911 which is very popular here in the US. SHOKz
