Where to buy .38 wadcutters

Is there a good online source for leadcutter .38 ammo? I would like to find something I can buy in bulk and use for indoor shooting at the range.

I have bought "semi-wadcutter" at Dick's for $60/200 rounds. That stuff seems filthy to shoot. After about 30-40 rounds, my revolver is a royal mess. Much as I enjoy cleaning my 686 (really), it would be nice to have it stay a little cleaner, if possible.

Thanks,
Jay

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that wadcutters were hard to find even before the current buying frenzy. I can't find them locally at all. Hopefully someone gives you a good answer.

I buy mine from www.mastercast.net. In fact, I have a thousand rounds of 148gr DEWC (plus 500 9mm 124gr LTC) enroute to me right now. I have fired off 6,000 of their reloads with no problems whatever. Reliable, inexpensive and prompt. If you really want to save money, save your brass and send it to them in exchange. And do it via USPS Priority Mail. A week ago, I sent a thousand .38sp cases to Mastercast that way. Cost me nine bucks and change. Any other way I know of would cost over twenty.

Cordially, Jack

Fiocchi, Mag Tech and Remington has factory new match 38 special WC Matchload. Probably others, too.
Ultramax and Black Hills has remanufactured 38 Special WC loads.

I got 4,000 semi wadcutters I need to get rid of, assuming you reload.

150 grain.

I won't cast wadcutters though, too much hassle.

PM me if you want some.

Cast from WW and tempered in water.

Make an offer.

VF: I think that he's asking about loaded ammo.

+1 on MasterCast.net
If you want less dirty ammo, they load a plated DEWC. Some ranges that bar jacketed ammo will allow plated.

Master cast is probably the best deal out there. Save your brass until you have a decent amount, like 500 or so, and trade it in for loaded wadcutters. Including shipping both ways my price came out to I think $8.89 per box.

They are very accurate but are still kind of dirty and smoky. I don't think you'll be disappointed with them.

I just sent mastercast a box of 2150 (1000 .38, 500 .357 and 650 .40) empty cases for the whopping price of 12.99 thanks to the new bigger flat rate box from the usps! LOL it weighed 43lbs!

I agree there .38/.357 ammo is super smokey/dirty...but super accurate! Their .40 180gr cast FP's are awesome...in my Sub2k I can hit a 6" plate every shot @50 yards with their ammo and ~ 50% of the time at 100 yards:)
