where is the cheapest place to buy body

Why would you want to ware the cheapest?
Try MATHEWS in North Carolina.

Poor Karma! I read your post thinking cheapest "place" to buy good armor. Not cheap armor. Matter of semantics, again. I don't know where the cheapest place to buy good armor is.

Kevlar is kevlar. I have no intention of wearing this thing anywhere. I just want 22-32 sheets of kevlar sewn into a convient package. Think of this as a request for entertainment devices.

try http://www.galls.com . Galls sells their own body armor which is actually Safariland panels covered by Gall's covers. It will cost you about $100 less than what the same Safariland product would cost you. With that $100, you can buy a higher level of protection.

Uncle Bob's " Flak-Vests-R-Us" ...

The term "cheap body armour" reminds me of the joke about a "used parachute selling cheap". The ad read "Only Used Once - Slightly Stained" ...

Well I can see the marketing people have been working hard

The material for vests is only available from the producer. There are no off brand kevlar or spectrashield makers. It is all the same stuff. 30 layers from A is the same as 30 layers from B.

I checked Galls and they do have some good prices. Is there anywhere else anyone knows of.

Please keep stupid comments to yourselves. Thank you.

I came across this post and I agree with most comments regarding the word "cheap" and associating it with something that will save your life.

Would you search for "cheap" football helmets for your kid who is playing pop warner football?

I hate the word cheap, if you want something "cheap" you could buy a product made in china.

But I understand you may need to save money, maybe you should search for

"affordable body armor" on google

the key word being affordable and not cheap.

there, i got that off my chest, phew, I feel better

Yeah Cheapest and body armor go together like "Cheapest Deep Sea SCUBA Gear" or "Cheapest Brain Surgeon' ....buy what you can afford; more $ does not always mean better quality but as a general rule it does.

I hear good things about this place:
http://www.bulletproofme.com/

They seem willing to do custom work too; which is great for us tall guys. @ 6'7" tall the couple of times I tried on my friends vests I felt like too much was left exposed and I mine as well not be wearing it for what it cost me in comfort and mobility.

To smooth out the ruffled feathers, perhaps the OP should have worded his question as to, who sells body armor at reasonable prices?
But I guess folks will read and interpret things incorrectly like some have done with regards to the answers posted.
Galls would be a good starting point.

Well I suppose that rules out most of the responses you were going to get.
Btw, if you're not overly concerned with concealment, you can just use the Gecko45-approved method of strapping manhole covers to your chest and back.

Our agency must have gone with the lowest bidder as usual, and when I went to pick up my new vest, it was 10 times too big. I also saw that it wasn't my name on the name tag. The name was blacked out but I could see it wasn't mine. The carrier was also way thicker than any of my others, and there wasn't the material at the bottom of the carrier which tucks into your pants. I could only think is was for exterior wear, especially due to the extra thickness of the ballistic material. I also noticed that the tag said they were made in Scotland. I only accepted it so I could take it directly to the contractor to speed up the process. Long story to say that I wouldn't doubt this Scottish vest company may be the cheapest out there. Danged if I remember the company but it may be easy to find on the net.
