Where do you wear your gun belt?

I recently purchased a good gun belt (from Rick Garcia) and am experimenting with a G26 in a Desantis Sof-tuck IWB holster. Normally (sans-gun), I wear my belt at my hips, towards the top of them. But with a gun and gun belt, I am finding that the belt digs uncomfortably into my hip at that level.

So I wanted to survey you guys to see at what level you wear your belt: below, at, or above your hips?

Differnt belts have differnt methods to wear them properly

Are you talking about a second belt, like a LE Duty belt,
Or one worn in place of your regular belt?
Or is this a Cowboy rig?
Each of them is worn differently.

A duty belt needs to be supproted by duty loops that wrap around both your regular belt and the duty belt.

A gunbelt worn like a normal belt should be worn the same as your normal belt, but cinched just slightly tigher than your normal belt.

With a Cowboy holster, I prefer to use a couple duty loops to keep it held up on the high hip, and let it ride slightly lower on the gun side hip.

If your's is digging into your side you probably need to tighten it up another notch.

I was referring to a gun belt in place of my normal belt (no cowboy rig). I see how tightening it makes it feel better, but it also forces the level of the belt to above my hips. I was just wondering if most people wear their belts in that manner.

For your needs it's obviously going to take some experimenting.
You're wearing IWB so I would try to cinch it one notch tighter.
I carry a S&W 669 9mm in a Galco Sumer Comfort holster. I had to move the holster about an inch further around to my back than I thought it should be. I had it around the 4:00 position, but I got the belt cutting into my hip too. I moved the holster back closer to 5:00-5:30 and it's not pulling the belt directly across my hip now. It's pulling from closer to the 11:00 position on my stomach.
If you're carrying your pistol forward like in the 2:00 postion, you might want to try a little closer to the 1:00 position to change where it's pulling on the opposite side of your belt.

I wear my belt so the bottom of it is sitting directly on my hipline.
Moving the holster that extra inch made a huge differnce in my comfort.

I hope you can find that comfort spot quickly. It's not much fun carrying, when the gun or belt is constantly digging into your side.
