Where do you think Ruger will go next?

Just some thoughts bouncing around in my otherwise mostly empty head!
With the announcement of the LC9, is the LC40 not far behind?
Will a LCR in 327 Federal be in the lineup?
And finally, Will Ruger join in with the "public official" offerings. Judges, Public Defenders, and Governors?

NRA show in May

I'm sure we will see something new. I would like to see them bring back the SP101 in 22lr. My guess would be SR40c.

Ruger has certainly surprised alot of people by steping firmly into the polymer handgun wave.

They did it the right way though.

Delivering finished handguns to their customers.

I would be surprised to see a LC40 though.

Taurus might have beat the crxp out of the rest of the handgun market for a 40 Smith semi auto ccw weapon in it's price point with it's 740 model.

Ruger would not do well to simply upsize the LC9 platform if they copied the KelTec PF-9 model.

I agree with PDW292,the compact SR40 makes sense.

Hopefully,Ruger will never use sensational names to promote their products.

Most Rugers have had great nameplates.

I see a sr40c soon. A lot later a sr45 (took a while to make the 40.) Then a 1911, seen rumors popping up of 1911 parts with ruger logos on it and there casting company already makes slides so why not? It is the 100th anniversary ater all everybodys making one.

I don't see a .410 revolver, that market is probably oversaturated after S&W jumped in. I would like to see a .22 SP101 with fully adjustable sights, 4&6" barrel with 1/2 underlug.

I'm surprised Ruger hasn't gone into leverguns to grab more of the CAS/SASS market.

All of the existing choices suck for one reason or another. Marlins aren't totally reliable out of the box with both long and short rounds (38Spl/357, or 44Spl/Mag), the Italian 66/73 series are weak, the Italian '92s are too much money (well over a grand), the Rossis need to be finished by the owner after purchase. A Ruger levergun that works out of the box like the NewVaq does would sell like gangbusters.

Good point, the Alaskan could be set up that way no problem. OR a nine-shot 327? *Maybe* 10? That would really rock hard.

Cap guns emblazoned with the warning:

BE CAREFUL!
YOU CAN PUT YOUR EYE OUT WITH THAT THING!
READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL!
CALL US AT 1-800-GORUGER IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ!

1911.
And the CAS movement has peaked, Ruger wouldn't pull enough out of a conventional centerfire levergun to pay for R&D.

I would like to see them bring back the SP101 in .22lr and it would be nice if ruger made a well built reasonably priced 1911 you dont mind beating up.

Retire the Mini-14 and replace it with a clone of the SU-16.

Bring out the "Ruger Pantocrator", a 10 gauge, 3 shot revolver.

Really? I'd guess, retire the remaining P-series autos, in favor of equivalents in the SR series.

"Nay" on an LC40. The LC9 has to be approaching the edge, comfort-level wise.

Second 3-Dog on Ruger Old Army

Great idea.

Sadly I didn't buy one during the time they were available.

Would love to have a well built stainless Black Powder revolver I could clean with
  1. an initial cleaning with a hose
  2. a trip through the dishwasher
  3. and then conventional cleaning.
..

They'll soon be either out of business or owned by Remington if they continue on their current trend of good ol' American greed! Once world reknown as "The Hunter's Gun", the Super Redhawk and others now cost us near $800!? C'mon boys, Dad would never stand for that. Not to mention a way overpriced AR version in an already overcrowded market and changing the Mini 14/30 rifles from the original design that still won't print a solid 2" group at 100 yards? A .44 carbine costing more than $600? A sweet .22 pistol nearing $500? Simplistic single actions nearing the same number that have been made with fewer parts on the same equipment for years and years? I'm just afraid that small pocket pistols will never be able to pull them out of this one.
