Where do you get HS Precision stocks? Which one's do you like?

I just put the new Leupold Vari-X III 6.5x20 50mm LRT on the 700 VS. Shoots very nice. I am as happy as can be. One problem. I have super high rings. This leads to goose necking. I was looking at the HS Precision web page and the tactical stocks with adjustable LOP and checkrest sounds like just what I need. Or maybe a classic stock will work.

I need to know the cheapest place (or any place really) where to get an HS Precision stock and I need to know my options. Thanks all. I will be back from the mountains in another month. I will get back to being a regular then!

I order directly from HS, doesn't take much to set up a dealer account with them and they are "nice people". Brownells can order from HS, if you prefer to go that route.

My wife's 700 PSS in .300 WM wears a 6-20/56 Springfield in an HS stock. She loves it to death, wish she would let me shoot it :(

Put a HSP stock on my .22-250 about a year ago. Currently running $150 through Midway (shipping's free).

It's just a classic style/replacement for the Rem 700 BDL stock which had (finally) warped "enough." Good deal all 'round in my mind.

Unless you actually need (as opposed to want = big difference) all the extras bells 'n whistles, I'd stick with a classic.

I've got an H-S Precision Tactical stock on my 700 Sendero. It's also the one that's fully adjustable for length of pull & height.

It is an excellent stock. I brought mine thru Brownells http://www.brownells.com

I also added one of H-S Precision's Detachable Magazines.

On top of my Sendero I've also got a 6x20 VariXIII.

The stock allows you to remove the bolt easily (you might have to lower the cheek rest but that's a hand turnable knob).

I considered the UARS from Gunsite as well as the AICS from Accuracy International. The H-S Presicion is the best of the bunch in my opinion.

Good luck.

I religiously read my Midway dealer cat. every month. Midway's never sold H-S Precision stocks for $150. They're $204 in my dealer cat., and they've never been on sale.

The VS and Sendaro come with an H-S Precision stock, with the full-length aluminum bedding block. I'd go with different rings, rather than buying another H-S Precision stock.

Good point on switching rings Walter.

BTW, Midway does publish a dealer's catalog. Maybe that's where the price came from.

I have also built up cheek peices with the Pachymyer self-stick pads.

I am not sure if I can get any smaller rings and still have room for the 50mm objective. I will have to do some measuring. Funny I was just wondering the same thing though. Thank a lot to all of you that have relplied. I will have to check out the height on the high rings and see if they alieviate the problem. I thought I had to have super high and that was the way it needed to be. Thanks again.
