I'm looking for the most affordable place to buy .380 and .40 target ammo. I have found that local gun shows don't have the best prices always, and I hate buying from Walmart or Meijers. Gun shops usually jack their prices so high its hard to justify. What place do you by target ammo from??? on-line, mail order. SAndstone fur co out of ohio always had good prices if they would show up at local gun shows. Thanks for the help

www.ammoman.com is my favorite. The price you see includes shipping and whatever else the others throw in. After all is said and done, the prices are probably about the same as what you get at www.natchezss.com and www.cheaperthandirt.com but I hate having to figure out shipping, credit card charges, and whatnot.

.380 and .40 aren't exactly the cheapest calibers to buy, but you probably already know that.

$4 a box of most anything inlcuding 44 mag and 454 Casull.

right from my garage!

Stop burning your money on factory ammo and reload!

This doesn't help you, but I buy almost exclusively from one of the local shops. .40S&W roughly $9.50/$10.00 by the single box or $8.50 or so (depending on current supply prices) by th case (180grain FMJ), Walmart is $10.96. .38 specials $7.50 by the box (FMJs) less by the case and again, considerably less than Walmart. Similar savings on other calibers. If you're in lower Alabama, the location is Home Defense Arms, in Dothan.

By the way, I neither work there nor am I related to the owners. Just have an interest in keeping them in business.

I buy almost all my ammo from Walmart. Here's why:

Winchester BEB winclean .45ACP at Walmart: $13.97 box/50

Same ammo at local gunshop: $16.99 box/50

I buy from walmart because it's a lot cheaper than my local guys and I can get winchester ammo there for about what American Eagle (which is good ammo, too) costs from the online guys. And I don't have to wait for it to be shipped.

I have ordered from ammoman and cheaperthandirt.com several times and have had good experiences from both.

Little guy often higher cause he/she has to pay more. Sometimes a lot more. Tis a matter of scale. Buy one of sumpin cost more than if you buy a bunch of it.

Roll your own generally beats em all. And even there, quantity pays off.

;) I agree with Shmackey.
www.ammoman.com because of simplicity of no shipping charges and prices end up being about the same.
However, you need to check them all out becuase they handle different brands and loads. Ammoman is the only one who sells Pro Loads.

3.99 9mm 115 grain blazers 50 count Academy--------------------oh yeah. 10.97 9mm 115 Winchester 100 count Wal Mart---------------Yes!!!!

With prices like these, why go to the steel-cased Wolf and Silver Bear 9mm ammo to induce undue wear on your weapon?

I forgot, wolf and silver bear have steel cases which some claim is hard on extractors. I recently bought a cz75 just for this reason---------------------the thing is built like a tank and all steel------------you should see the inside of the frame----------talk about meat!

:( Just got an e-mail from Ammoman. They're discontinuing Pro Load ammo due to poor sales. Don't know of anywhere else to get it except the company and they charge twice as much. Looks like I'll have to go to a different brand.

Anyone know where else Pro Loads can be bought on the internet?

Walmart prices sound good. I'm in a very small town (4,000). The closest Wally World is 65 miles away.

the downside on blazer is the case. my range won't allow it since they sell there spent casings in bulk to reloading companies and alumimum cases are no go.

Besides waiting for the UPS man to deliver my 1,000 rounds whats wrong with Walmart or Meijer prices? All the dealers in town mark up like they have the market cornered, and the gun show ammo exclude the 2 dollar parking fee and 7 dollar admission fee.Wally world and Meijers gets all my money on target ammo.SAFE-SHOOTING!

Miwall -- $89/k 9mm

I have stopped reloading 9mm since trying the MiWall reloads. Copper plated bullets, ideal for shooting plates or paper. I paid $89 per thousand at a gunshow, plus tax. .40 SW were $119 per thousand, with nickel-plated brass.

A couple thousand rounds so far and no squibs or problem loads. The charge is pretty light in .40, but it has no problem recycling my Glocks or HKs.

www.miwallcorp.com

Web prices a bit higher than show prices. MiWall is based in No. California.
