Where can I get info on rifle range design?

Hello, I'm from Paraguay, south america, and I would like to get design guidelines and ideas for my club's shooting range (55x400m). This range setup would have to be pretty simple (we have very limited means at the moment), and it is going to be used for IHMSA competition up to 200m, 100 to 300m rifle events, and informal target/plinking use. The backstop is finished, and we are in the process of building the side berms, access routes and drainages. Everything is being done with basic earthmoving equipment. Thanks for your help!!

Not only does the NRA have information, they have a one week class on Range Design and operations. It considers things like safety, ventilation (for indoor), richochets, haz-mat (lead) and environmental concerns (like contamination of water supply due to lead), run-off (water - don't want to stand ankle deep in water), etc.

Good to see some south american fellow enthusiasts here! :)

Thank you all!! I have already contacted the NRA on-line and only got an automatic machine answer, do you think I should wait a bit more or send them a letter?

I had a bit of trouble getting in contact with the NRA range staff, but eventually did, and bought the NRA range manual. It is helpful. Good luck.

Your means may be limited right now, but here is a company that should help and thier equipment is top of the line. Action Target has been very helpful to me so far. Thier range equipment costs a bit, but its worth every penny. Maybe you'll be able to work toward it later, but for now they have lots of information for designing.

Also, they are an international company servicing and deigining ranges all over the world.

Good luck.
