I'm very frustrated this morning,,,

<RANT>

A friend has asked my advice on a handgun,,,
So I go the the Ruger site and find only minimal information.

For example I'm looking at the "spec sheet" for the LC9,,,
It doesn't say a thing about whether it has a manual safety or not,,,
It also doesn't show a pic of both sides of the gun so I can see the controls.

Ruger isn't the only mfgr that's bad about this,,,
The Kahr and Kel-Tec websites are far from being informative.

This is really frustrating when trying to research a pistol.

Is there a resource I'm not aware of,,,
Where I can find all about the features of a handgun?

The spec sheet may not be comprehensive, but Ruger makes the full Owner's Manual available online. Can't get much better than that.

Duh,,, smacking self on forehead,,,,,

Why didn't I think of that,,,
~Smacking self on forehead~.

The young lady asked me to find a few 9mm's for her to look at,,,
I'm having trouble with all of the manufacturer's websites,,,
I'll look for owners manuals on their sites.

Thanks gentlemen.

Okay,,, that worked for Ruger,,,,,

But the other websites had the same problem,,,
All "puff" verbiage and very little real information.

I Googled,,,
compact 9mm pistol comparison,,,
I and came up with this decent website.

Still a bit sketchy on actual specs,,,
But it's not a bad starting point.

Yeah, genitron.com is really handy... I especially like their "compare handguns" feature where I can put the info from 3 different guns side-by-side...

I usually go to gunbroker and read as many descriptions as possible...it almost always ends up giving me all the info I need and multiple stock and personal pictures of the gun I'm trying to learn about.
