Where are all the Mil-surp C&R bolt guns?

I recently renewed my C&R license after having not used it like an idiot when I first got it. Finally made my first purchase with it on Classic Firearms last week. My grandfather gave me a couple of SKS stripper clips so I saw no other choice but to buy myself a Serbian Police M59/66. Now I'm hooked on this whole C&R thing.

My question is where are all the other C&R guns? The only places I know to look are Classic Firearms, Aim Surplus, and JG Sales but they don't really have much right now. Can anyone recommend some other good places to check?

The balance of Samco's bankruptcy inventory is mostly what's available. The last five years in particular have been bonkers with skyrocketing prices as they suddenly became popular to collect after sitting stacked and packed in warehouses for the past 60 years. You'll have to decide whether you can justify $500-$1000 and more for even the most common of these old bolt guns.

Me, I'll happily wait until the next recession for a buying opportunity. Buy low, sell high...

Wait! You bought a rifle because you inherited a couple of stripper clips? Thats gotta be a record. I have heard of having a hundred rounds of ammo and buying a rifle but never a couple of stripper clips. Oh well, works for me.:D

Correct. The stripper clips were each loaded with 10rds of brass cased 7.62x39mm FMJ if that makes it any better :D

PM me if you are interested in model of 1917s, all in good do outstanding condition.

Not sure if 19103A3s are ok for CR but I have two of those in outstanding condition

Also a 1911 7.5 Swiss.

None of those are bargains.

Most bolt action milsurps are just gone.
Don't get the idea or purpose of a C&R licence. Requires a boat load of useless, time consuming, unnecessary paperwork as I recall. Doesn't really save any money either. Just as stupid an idea as all our stupid permit laws.

Go on Gunboards or other large forums with classifieds. Doesn't matter if it is a long gun or handgun... judging state laws on it... you can send a copy of your license and have it shipped to your door. Considering it is C&R.

I think a lot of the big importations are done, but will get one when I move. You still find some good deals. Brownells also gives you a discount for being an FFL.

If you buy one firearm over the three year license period it pays for itself as it's about the cost of a single transfer in most places. They're not "gone", just owned by individuals and not distributors, evidenced by all of them for sale at inflated prices as they try to find out just how much someone's willing to pay for a relatively common, 60 or 70 year old bolt action rifle.
