Where am I?

I have been practicing with a Ruger MKII, Government target with a 6 7/8" bull barrell, for about 8 weeks and shot about 6-8 hundred rounds through it.
Today I was out it the yard with 100 rounds.
First 60 I adjusted the sight from a standing position, two hand stance (or whatever it is called).
My last forty rounds where put on a new 5" dia. target, fifty feet away.
I put 75% of my shots inside the circle and 25% outside. The shots outside are no more than about 2" from the outside edge of the circle.
This is my first pistol.
How would you rate my current performance? :barf: or :)
Thanks,
Dan
I would also like feedback on distance from target and what not.

Remember Grasshopper.........

When you can shoot the pebble from my hand THEN you are a master.......

You are doing fine.

Your distance is fine.

BUT

It should not take 60 rounds to adjust your shots though......

Let's see, that would be about the 17 yard line. Not too bad, but sounds like you could use a little technique.

Try slowly starting from the left edge of the paper, then suprising yourself with the shot when it gets around the middle of the 5". Bet your groups improve. The more you try and hold your sight *on* the target, the more it'll wander.

Just to be sure, shoot off some sandbags with different ammo and see which is more accurate. CCI MiniMags seem to work best in my 22/45. Oh...and a red dot really makes things fun.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I will try and fine tune my sights this weekend.
CCI mini mags do seem to work best in my pistol.
I do not have a pistol range near here, so I was thinking of getting a book to read.
I may also take a trip to one of the competition shoots they have around here.
