Watching NetGeo on cable and they had a good program on the end of civilation as we know it. Started me thinking about my B.O.B. and where I stand on getting it ready. Working on food now, water next month and then it hit me, while I have many ammo boxes full of loaded ammo, it would take a semi truck to haul it all, so what would I put in my BOB and how much ammo should I take?

Do I go with 3 hand guns and 2 rifles? Or take 6 hand guns and 5 rifles which I would prefer, but then how do I carry all that ammo? If there is no gas for the van and no horses around what would you do??

And where exactly do you think you're going to go with all that gear? I think you need a tactical wheelbarrow.

I think he will need more than 4 diet cokes. I take about that many when I go to the rifle range, since it is a hour and a half drive each way (once every two months if I am lucky). Part of the pain of living in the center of civilization.

Well seeing as how the world changes in terms of effective small arms I have a self evolving bug out plan.

I intend to take the most reliable and effective small arms I have and bug out. Pistols are easier to pack and I may pack more than one or two. I intend to shove as much ammo in my pockets and gear bag as I can. I also intend to take off with gear I know to be compatible with the most widely available ammo available. Anything else, I don't need.

I intend to also pack clothes of a wide assortment for various reasons and my maintainance gear, water, jerky and any food I need on the way I'll kill it.

I'll carry my pocket knife and an E-tool as well and a sharpener and a tanto blade knife and my tomahawk (the tool not the expensive as hell missile).

I'll suit up, lock and load and punch out.

Might sound like a lot but I've given as much thought to practicality as I can. I've also learned as a big strong dude that I tend to be able to carry more than others. I'm slower yes but not as slow as people may think. I gotta factor in my physical ability to carry and do things too. Ounces equals pounds and pounds equals pain.

Whatever I have in my load out I need to be able to carry on me some how without being clumsy or discomfortable in-case vehicles are not an option. I gotta be able to hump it, all of it.
