When seconds count...........

No, he told dispatch that he shot AT someone trying to break into his home.

If he said that he had shot and wounded someone I suspect police, fire, and ambulance services would have been rolled immediately.

OUCH! Shot in the groin, that's one heck of a low blow...........got what he deserved though :D

I've personally seen LEO response time to a break-in be over 20 minutes. Pays to remain armed even at home.

I think this is the first time a news account has reported a hospital listing a patient as being in "unsatisfactory" condition.

I'm used to "satisfactory," "serious," "critical," "guarded," "life-threatening," and "non-life-threatening," but I've never before encountered "unsatisfactory."

Sorry to say that wasn't my experience at all, quite the opposite in fact.

Waiters said he first saw the house in late December while searching for a home to buy. It was big and had four bedrooms, which drew him to it, he said.
I'm certainly glad the "reporter" included this information. The story would not have been complete otherwise.

I'm pretty sure that if I got shot in the groin (or anywhere else) I would desribe my condition as "unsatisfactory."

How about police NEVER showing up. My Mother called the police while someone was outside her house literally throwing big rocks at her home -- they could hear the rocks hitting and glass break over the phone. They still never came. And it was a racial crime. Reverse discrimination.

Suffice it to say she never had another problem with her neighbor, one of whose yutes it was, that moved within six months of my personal attention in the matter.

Gehrhard, nice to see you made them see the light -I don't need to know anything else but this.

"They moved away."

Mom deserves some peace,you know.

I know all you did was go over and have a nice talk with them.Nothing more to say.:D

it was response time that opened my eyes to the need for cc. Similar situation to gerhard......sister at my parents home alone, 3 men pull up in a car and are beating on the doors, she freaks and calls me at my girlfriends house 10 miles away and calls the police (2 miles away). I grab a gun and head over, confront the men to find they worked for my dad, were drunk, and wanted to borrow some money. I sent them packing, calmed down my sister, drove away and met a unit coming in.

I was surprised to learn that in my town, there are 4 or 6 patrol districts and at night the cops have one per district. If a cop needs help in a given district, all the rest are left uncovered and response times go up dramatically.

Sgt. Matt Blackstock said Jones has been charged with criminal attempt burglary. Police do not believe Jones had a weapon.

I will never understand why criminals, who are engaging in an activity that may result in a life threatening encounter, don't bring weapons. I am pleased that they don't, but just amazed that knowing the risks, they aren't any better prepared to defend themselves than many of the good guys.

Some might not have them, DNS; others might actually worry about enhanced sentencing guidelines for use of firearms in the commission of felonies.
