When is a 94 NOT a 94?

When it is actually a Taurus 96... from the late 80s, early 90s. (Found it this morning on GB, listed as a 94, with no bids.)

This one is very clean, and I just couldn't resist.

For those that don't know, it is basically Taurus' version of the S&W 17. I had one when they first came out and never found it wanting, but being in the USAF at the time, moving lots of guns around wasn't practical, so it got sold before I left OKC for Korea.

Darn nice looking Taurus you got there.

Some of these old Taurus's are really nice handguns-this one looks that way.

Congrats.

I love those grips, and I wish my Taurus Model 94 had some like that. What's the shape of the grip frame underneath -- square butt or round butt? Do you have any idea if those would go on a 94?

It's a square butt, but this is a model 96 which is the same size as the S&W K frames. You'll notice this is a six-shot revolver rather than 9.

Your model 94 is closer to the S&W J frame size, so these grips won't fit.
