When did Lyman discontinue their flagship press?

Too expensive for entry-level reloaders.
Too much slop in the linkage and ram for experienced reloaders.

Plus... It wasn't shiny enough, or packaged in a holographic box (**cough** Hornady **cough**), or with bright orange stickers all over the box to notify you of the latest and greatest tool "upgrades" that are now made of plastic, rather than metal - but still made in China (**cough** RCBS **cough**).

Lyman hasn't made a worthy press in years. If you have or can find an old one they are fine, but the new stuff has so many corners cut they aren't worth owning. That goes for most of their equipment now.

Lyman press

I'm hard pressed to see the old Spartan and Spar T generation is superior to the Crusher and T-Mags. I always figured the heavier duty presses came a long with FL sizing of large rifle cases. I have no gripes with my old T-Mag. Works great. No slop. My only problem is there are no extra turrets for this early model. All this heavy duty press business started with everybody "Green" with envy (RCBS).

I use a Crusher, have since I started in 1986 when my brother taught me how to load.
It's still quite tight and I build accurate ammo with it...didn't know I was supposed to upgrade my press.
