for me, it's my 28" Weatherby/SKB Orion Classic III. Beautiful oil finish grade 3 wood on this gun. Works really well in the field, sub-gauge sporting clays and skeet. In fact, I'm taking it with me tomorrow for some skeet shooting at Loch Raven trap and skeet outside of Baltimore. Pull.....X.....X

Now, how about the rest of you guys!?!

Previously, it was my Browning Ultra XS with 30" barrels (until the gun fell and cracked the stock)

Now it is my S&W Elite Gold - round trigger-plate action, DT, English, splinter - absolutely smokes the 5-stand sporting targets - even with my 3/4oz reloads
 
did you get the gun repaired!?! :eek:

I splintered the forend on my 12ga Lightning Sporting Clays and Browning put a new one on. They matched the wood perfectly. I think it cost me around $260 and they needed the entire gun to match it up with the barrels...
 
SxS are so much fun! I have an older 50's vintage Stevens 311/5100 20 bore. It's a little tight for targets; mod/full. But, I can hit a few clays with it... :)
 
In a 20ga ( or a 12ga, or 28ga or a .410 ) ....I favor the Browning Citori, XS Skeet model, with 30" barrels and the adjustable comb ....

In the attached photo ....from the top - its the 12ga, then the 20ga ...and then the 28ga and the .410 ....( the 20ga, 28ga and .410 are all built on the 20ga receiver / so they all weigh the same / same 30" barrels ). The 28ga and .410 were special orders / but a lot of the bigger dealers periodically order 28ga and .410's made up on one of the 20ga receivers. They are not available in the normal Browning catalog.

Another photo ...but my photographic skills are obviously limited ...but I got very lucky on finding this gun new / with this highly figured stock on it - about 10 yrs or so ago I think ...

I have an older Browning BPS 28" barrel, Hunter model in 20ga as well ...

and a semi-auto Benelli Super Sport model in 20ga ....(and I shoot it a little / but its real light ( 6.2 lbs ) and it only came in a 28" barrel and in that light a gun - I like a longer barrel.

But the Citori XS Skeet model is my primary 20ga gun for Skeet or Sporting clays when I can get to a tournament that has a 20ga event... and occasionally some upland bird hunting ...with it.
 
Sorry,the two 20s here are loved equally.

The SKB O/U works well on dove, has illusions of being a SC gun and makes me look like a better shooter than I really am. Weighs 6 lbs, 11 oz and balances a litle forward.

The little 870 was a "Yute" model until I put a straight grip full length stock on it. Now t'is a fast handling gun good for quail and so on. Carries well at 6 lbs 2 oz.

Don't ask me to choose....
 
I don't own a 20-ga gun, but a Perazzi 12-ga with Briley tubes works for me in the 20-ga events. This is a 30" MX-8 with custom wood (I'm showing this one in deference to Big Jim's preference for parallel stocks and long barrels for Skeet):

I've only got one twenty left but it's my favorite upland (grouse, quail, woodcock) gun: a Merkel Model 147 EL. "English" straight grip, double triggers, auto ejectors, 26 3/4" barrels bored IC/Mod., and weighs under six pounds. Though it has 3" chambers, the recoil on this gun is a little stout when touching off the long twenties. :(
 
I also have the Savage/Fox BSE in 20. Compared to the lithe S$W, it is the proverbial pig on a shovel when it comes to triggers and handling. The S&W is still available on line. Mine is .009 and .016 - a nice IC/M combo
 
Franchi AL 48...... I love it even more after have the barrel drilled and tapped for screw in choke tubes....... Now I can use it for everything. It has always been a great upland bird gun....

Yep. That would be me.

I have three 20's but nothing fancy. The other two are a Benelli Nova pump, and an old Mossberg 185K (a very nice, light, shooter for walking in the woods.)

My favorite 20 is the old Mossberg 385 KB that my dad gave me over 30 years ago. It's a sentimental favorite, of course, and has put a lot of meat on the table. I have given it to my 14 year old son now.
 
I have several 12 and 16ga guns but only one 20. It is my favorite woods bumming gun. A Baikal Bounty Hunter II with 20" barrels SXS. With Winchester 3/4 oz slugs it will shoot R/L into a 4" group out to 60yds. Makes it great for hogs and deer. Does well with shot also even with the low profile express rear sight I mounted on it. Pretty much a do anything gun when you're not out to do anything particular.
 
I like my 1953 Browning A-5 20 ga. If I do my job it never misses. Sweet shooter, light to carry. Totally changed my opinions about field shotguns.
