If I compare similar O/U sporting models, Winchester is 25% less expensive than Browning - though I haven't seen any complaints on the former. Is it just branding issue? What's about reliability, longevity, and resale value?
One is made in Belgium, the other in Japan...both are made with minimal human interference in the production process (although Browning does regulate their barrels by hand)...Browning's name has been associated with O/Us since the Superposed.......Both are owned by the same company.
as an example, looks like a nice gun, at least on paper ... / and is certainly comparable to Brownings XT on paper ...
I think they've limited the models available, reduced some of the options / trying to attact another buyer at a different price point.
I don't see too many of the Win's around / but I don't hear anything bad about them either. Its hard to say what they're going to do with Win and Browning down the road ...or if they're really going to let them compete ( which I doubt ) ...
A lot of corporations / have more than one mfg in the same general market ... and you never know what's really going on at corportate ( autos, big trucks, guns, furniture, etc ...) ...
