What's wrong with this picture?

They were lucky to get him to admit to anything considering the complete lack of evidence and the unfavorable (for the prosecution) outcome of the first trial.

John

I'm assuming you're implying he's innocent? Maybe I'm reading you wrong.

However, he admitted guilt to the crime in a plea bargain. This is about his sentence being no jail time for a sex crime against a 9 year old.

The fact is the legal system has found him guilty of a crime and his sentence is pathetic considering what he was found guilty of.

...what kind of nation are we living in where a man gets a month in jail because his friends threw a party at his house?

John wasnt implying that he was innocent. The first trial ended in a mistrial and a new trial was scheduled. What he was implying that if the second trial ended in a mistrial he would have walked out of the courthouse a free man.

The DA took his best shot and came up with a deal. Its probably nowhere the justice he deserves but its better than letting him walk out the door a free man. This way he will probably have to register as a sex offender and will have to follow certain rules or he will go to prison.
