What's wrong with the SIG 245?

I'm not a Sig fan, but I am curious, why am I seeing so many lightly used 245's showing up in the cases at my local shops?

1) Coincidence.

2) people don't know a good pistol when they
see it

3) They bought it thinking it would fill their bill but it didn't (not concealable enough, etc)

There is nothing wrong with the gun

Really like my 245. Shoots sweet! I think that some of the reasons may be that the grip is too small, but it is a compact. My shooting hand pinky finger rarely stays on the grip, but I knew that when before purchasing. No problem, just adapted!

GRIP TOO SHORT! That is the number one complaint that I've heard and it was my complaint when I got rid of mine. When I bought mine, my little finger rested right in the middle of the tip of the finger extension. I thought, "no big deal". After 50 rds of firing it, my finger hurt like heck. Good gun but I sold it, turned the money into a nice 228.

I guess the good old boys all have small hands! :D

I've seen 4 total, at 2 different shops in the past 2 weeks. That seems like quite a few for a relatively new model, the owners haven't even had time for the new gun glow to wear off and they are being traded in?

The only reason I get rid of a gun that quickly is if there is a problem with it.

"You mean nothing wrong, other than the fact that the decocker and slide release are in the wrong place, right?"

Maybe if you're left handed.

Never seen a used one in my area. NIB they go for outrageous prices and folks seem to pony up the money quick.

So many pistols, so little money.

I have enjoyed the P245 for exactly a year this week. I originally liked the P220, other than its size. In comes the P245 with features similar to the P220, but in a smaller package:
1) Reliability
2) Feel- Ergonomics (grip/pointability)
Controls (decock, magazine release,
trigger, etc.)
3) Accuracy
4) Portability
The only feature I wished was available was an extended capacity magazine. (Stock is 6+1)
But heh...it's a .45!

I have shot the heck out of my 245. and love it. I am left handed and have no problems with the decocker or slide release. The grip and barrel are short but this is a compact 220. I think sig done a exe job on this pistol. everyone that has shot my 245 shot it well and had nothing negatave to say. A compact 45 is not for everyone but the 245 is the best of the bunch in my opinion they sell well around here.my local dealer got 3 in and priced them at $650 sold out in a week.Better buy one of those used ones REX

I already carry a H&K USP45 Compact, and have no plans to change. If I do change, it won't be to a Sig. They are great guns, but the manual of arms is so different from others that I'd screw up years of conditioned response. My 1911's & H&K are condition 1, that is the only way I will carry.
