I know this thread will get shut down (and it should), but I have heard people refer to "tin foil hats" and such things 5 times in the last couple of days! What does it mean!? I'm hungry for knowledge!!!

I think

it may refer to people who wear tin foil hats to keep the "rays" from penetrating their brains. Paranoids. There was a story about some whack job in CA a few weeks ago who wrapped his whole house in foil.

News shooter has it.

A friend of mine is US Park Police, and in his patrol position had a lot of contact with homeless people in DC. He said that a fair number of them DO wear tinfoil to block the "rays."

He did have a unique one, though. A couple of years ago they got a guy for causing a disturbance, and as they were booking him, found that he had dozens of the little waxed paper butter pats on his head under his hat. He said the butter blocked the rays, and that tin foil didn't do anything.

OMG, I am laughing so hard right now. It may have to do with it being Friday, but Mike's story about the butter guy is awesome! That practice would give a bald man one helluva sun tan.

Rich, I'm glad your link has a picture to go along with it - that helped a great deal. :D

Feel free to shut this thread down now, as this question has been 100% answered. To leave it open would only lead to a sad decay. Like eating soggy, floppy, two-day-old nachos.
