What's Wendy's Policy?

Seems they might be a nice target to politely question if employees can carry?

Dave, if still involved, seems a nice conservative older guy - just the type to come out in favor of the RKBA.

Why not offer their employees training?

I never worked for Wendy's but I did for Burger King for two weeks. Their policy was no on can be armed (with knife, gun, or OC) and if you are robbed to just give up the money. I had no problem with giving up the money, it wasn't mine and it didn't affect my paycheck. BUT, many times you hear about what happened in NY.. and they don't consider that in their "policy". I'm not willing to give up my life for 5.15 an hour. They (the criminals) want the money, take it. You want me (my life) you have to fight for it. That's why I ignore policies with companies. The worst they can do is fire me. And in NY, they don't know if you have a permit for which gun it is or if you don't have a permit. Life is precious, life is short, make the most of it that you can and protect it the best you are able. USP45usp.

No, I would think it's about time to be quite impolite.

A plethora of attorneys and causes would pounce if this situation would have been reversed i.e "Wendy employee shoots would-be robber".

I like Dave Thomas very much, but it's about time to use the left's tactics and litigate the hell out of this occurrence for the express purpose of instituting CCW in NY and NYC.

Stranger things have happened.

I think that you will find very few companies that would let their workers be armed while working. To them it is too much of a liability. I was wondering if we could sue to be able to carry while on the job? An in fringment on our rights???? I work for a baby bell and in some areas where there has'nt been alot of gang activty, it is certainly on the rise again. We work in two-man cerws in those areas. Do you think that is a deterrent to the gang-bangers? The company wants to take away our rights to work in those areas as a two-man crew. Can you believe that.

"...give them the money..."

Okay, what if they wanted more than the money? What is the corporate policy then? Does corporate policy "allow" employees to resist at some point? Can they resist being tied up? Pushed around? Bonked with the malt maker? Herded into the walk-in freezer? More?

We have a very easily defended position that those folks were targeted because they were unarmed and killed because they could not resist.

I wait for the day.

That is the entire reason I carry. My company does a lot of work in the surrounding cities and at night, sometimes in rough areas. I would encourage my employees to carry, but only after passing a gun safety check by me. They must know how to use it and when to use it. Nobody is gonna come into my office and start shooting without us shooting back.

If I owned a company, I would allow carry if the person had a modicum of training beyond the CHL test. Thus, I would hire my friend Karl Rehn to give a special AT class or two to those employees interested in carrying.

In Dallas, I would ask the SDSI boys.

I'd pay the guys for the day to take the course.

Glenn, You say you're hiring? ;)

Where I work no employee is allowed to carry. It is a zero toleerance policy offense. One strike and you're out!

I will admit that I have broken that rule more than once....once even with the boss's tacit approval when her ass was being threatened!
