Here are a few that just make sense to me!!! Please add your Ideas!!! :)

1. You may carry anywhere except those places posted.
2. Any posted place MUST have:
a. a secure storage facility for firearms
b. security for you while you’re there
c. If, in the case of an incident, the posted location MUST have liability insurance in the amount of at least 1 million dollars
3. Accidental exposure can not be classed brandishing, just stupidity

Any other ideas?

uh, I like the idea that alaska and new hampshire have. if you can own it, you can carry it. simple as that

As for requiring places to have storage units that seems a little ridiculous. If your local bar doesn't want you carrying inside then either leave your gun at home or don't go to that bar anymore.

I gotta agree,
With the exception of court houses and perhaps airports.
To much emotion in the courts but at airports if eveyone could carry I doubt there would be anymore hijackings.

1. You may carry anywhere.

I want to be judged on what I do, not on what others do, and not on what others think I may do. I cannot understand how/why carrying on the street is fine, but passing through a doorway to point X or stepping on the grounds of Y suddenly makes me a danger that must be controlled, or my life & my kids' lives any less worthy of my protection.

Of course all bets are off though in someone's home, private business, etc.

Redworm,
You mean Alaska and Vermont right? New Hampshire does have CC laws. Only Alaska and Vermont allow you to carry if you can legally own without getting a permit.

all those new england states are the same to me

lol funny you said that because I went to www.handgunlaw.us and spent like 3 minutes trying to click on the right state cause they are all so small.
No offense to anybody who lives in New England though.:D

Back on track, I think you should be able carry anywhere really. Criminals carry where they want regardless, so why shouldn't people who carry LEGALLY be able to carry wherever.

Personally, I think if you have a permit to own a handgun, then there is no reason to have to apply for and pray you get a seperate permission slip to carry it on your person or with you.
Hell, I'm still trying to figure out if I am breaking the law when I put my legally bought and registered handguns into a locking case, put said case into the trunk of my car, drive the car to my club's shooting range and target shoot every week-end. Why I am wondering if I am breaking the law is, in my state, you supposedly have to not only have a permit to buy and own a handgun, but also have a carry permit to even leave the store you buy the gun at with it in the box...........go figure that one out.

Gonna lock up a lot of gun owners then

You know what I meant. Anyone who has committed a crime so grievous that they cannot be trusted with a weapon shouldn't have been released form prison in the first place.

Uh, no. If I have property, I should be able to lay down the law however I want regarding guns and carry. If you don't like it, don't come onto my property.

Resent a business that doesn't let you carry? Write a letter to their management (a coherent complaint letter, the skills for which seem to be sorely lacking around here from what examples I've seen) and don't give them any more of your money.

#1 Background check
#2 mandatory training
#3 carry anywhere except courthouses and bars
#4 mental evaluation [ maybe something similar to what LEO candidates get ]
#5 Must be legal U.S. citizen
#6 the right to defend yourself - if you fear for your or a family members life or if someone breaks into your home you do not have to try to run away .
[ probably something like Florida laws ]
#7 one time permit - good for life - no renewal required
