What's the lightest trigger pull possible on a factory Win 70 trigger?

I'm considering a Rifle Basix trigger for my Win 70.
But wanted to check first what the lightest possible pull one can get from the factory trigger?
Can it go down to two pounds?
Might not need a new trigger if the factory trigger can get there.

Adjusting the win model 70 factory trigger is a one-way street--maybe 3-4 pounds if you know what you are doing---a big "if"

you would be much better off to replace the factory trigger with a "timney" that is 3-way adjustable or the "basix" parts if $$$$ is tight.

Call me cheap, but I went with the Basix trigger on mine. I have the gut feeling that I have to compress the tension spring way too much, but none the less- it works fantastic for a truck/varmint hole poker. When setting it up, you can see what each action/reaction is as far as contact surfaces go. I do think they can be set 'too light'- as I suppose any after market trigger could- but go slow and test often and you should be fine.

You can adjust the Mod 70 trigger to 'zero'. Dangerous but you can adjust down to nothing. Mine is quite light with factory trigger. I adjusted it more than 20 years ago to my liking and have left it alone. BTW, it shoots sub-75" groups at 100 yards.

I had an older 70 when i tryed to tune the trigger 3 1/2lbs was as low as it would go with the spring all the way out. I think to get it better you would have to take some metal off.
If i would have kept it i would have replace the trigger but i did'nt really need a 300mag.

Unless the rifle is going to be kept as a bench rest gun and not loaded until it is to be fired, 3 1/2-4 pounds is about as light as you want to go. Get that trigger too light and it won't hold and will probably let go when the bolt is closed. That is the sort of thing that causes little round holes to appear in pickup trucks, hunting companions, and feet. Not good.
