what's the difference

I have a 2inch 357 mag and a 4 inch 357 mag revolver. I just bought 2 boxes of Hornady Ammo.
1- 38 spec 110 grain FTX
2- a box of 38 spec +P same weight and both my
revolvers really like Hornady ammo.

What's the difference, if any between the 2 ammos Especially recoil and flash
and of course penetration?

Well, according to the website...

Both of the 110gr FTX products in .38 Special are the "Critical Defense" ammo and it should produce a muzzle velocity of 1,010 fps in the regular .38 Special version and 1,090 fps in the .38 Special+P version.

To find the difference in flash and felt recoil, we'd need to find someone who has some of EACH ammo and a revolver or two that could test them & report back.

A-HA! We've got someone! :D:p
So:

report back!

I stopped at Academy of Sports today and got 2 boxes of each at $20/box.
Thought that was a decent price. Going to The Range Monday to see if an old dude like me can tell the difference.Still think I'll die before I get to buy a box of Speer 135 grain HPs. Like the elusive Dodo Bird or a Snipe Hunt.

if they both have a red polymer tip, the only difference is the velocity. I don't think there is going o be too much of a difference, but....I have shot the +p. so let u know how they fare. maybe in some jelly the +p might give you another inch, but I think it's just that some people don't like to shoot the +p out of older revolvers, so they make a standard loading for those folks.

difference

Went to the range today and used some re-loads that a friend sent me ranging from 38 spec to spec+P to 357 mag 125 grain & 158 grain for using in my 2 & 4 inch 357 mag revolver. All shot well and as you can guess, the full pop 357 mag almost took my hand off.
Then shot Rem 125 gr 38 spec +P UMC JHP's, Speer 327 mags full pop, and the 2 Hornady ammos I asked about. Of the 3 brand ammo, Hornady 38 spec +P 110 grain and 38 spec 110 grain were terrific. Guess what my guns like??
The reloads also were well received as long as I didn't let any one revolver get too hot.

Sometimes we older folks need encouragement and accurate info.
I appreciate all critiques good and bad.
BTW. I'm really having a blast(Iknow) shooting again for sport
