Whats the difference between a 629 and a 29?

Then there's,

the 629 mountain gun, 629 Classic, 629 Classic DX,
and the 629 Extreme.

Ala Dan,

Guess its been awhile since I checked out the 629 family, so maybe you'll be kind enough to fill me in on exactly what a 629 extreme is.

Been shooting my 629 Classic for close to ten years now and very pleased with it, but hate to think I'm missing out on something, even if only knowledge.

Safe shooting.

Robby

Then there's the Performance Shop 629's

Mine has the 2 5/8 barrel. There you go.

Greeting's Robby,

The Smith & Wesson model 629 extreme is that
ungodly monster only a mother could love.:D
I believe the barrel length is 12"*, and she
comes equipped with a rifle sling.:) Heck,
you ought to be able to fire a round from
Long Island slap to California with this
thing!!! I believe also, that my friend
and fellow TFL member Robert the .41 MagFan
has one of these for use in the Oregon woods?

Best Wishes,

Any Smith & Wesson revolver that has a model number starting with a 6 is stainless steel. Any other digit normally means that it's carbon steel or aluminum.

The exception is, I believe, the Model 940, a J-frame stainless steel in 9mm.
