Not really gun related I know, but I discovered something today that really irked me.
I think a lot of people can agree that it's good to carry a decent non-lethal defense as well as a firearm in order to deal with a wider range of situations. OC spray seems to be a pretty effective stopper for lower level threats. Usually you find it at 10% or so.
Why in the hell does Michigan ban anything over 2%? I mean, is 2% OC even effective at all against an attacker? What gives? Tazers are illegal here as well. It's interesting that the only real defense you can carry here is one of lethal force.
As far as I know no other state restricts pepper spray potency like Michigan, and I guess I'm trying to understand the reason. And I also want to know if the 2% stuff would even spice up a taco let alone deter anything bigger than a mouse.
