What's the deal with magnum shotshells?

OK, so no oneloads a 357 Magnum into a 38 special chamber. pressure will blow the whole party.
But is there a big pressure difference between 2.75" (normal) and 2.75" magnum shotshells?
Is the danger the same if one were to chamber a "magnum" shotshell into a non-mag shotgun? Is the pressure eventhe issue?
Or something else?
Thanks,
Carl

Someone feel free to correct me, but I believe "magnum" in reference to a shotgun means more shot and usually less velocity.

Yup,usually it means more shot, less velocity. "Express" usually means less shot and more velocity. Basically magnum really means "more room for powder and shot". The pressures are usually not too different.
