I used "Gunzilla" last night. Typically I start with 15 strokes with a brush loaded with Kroil and Hoppes; patch it out. Repeat with patches of Butch's Bore Shine; if still black, I'll use JB paste. When clean, I'll swab with Bore Bright or similar liquid that washes everything out and quickly dries. Then G96 to lube the barrel lightly.
With Gunzilla I made 4 passes with patches laced with the liquid, and 4 dry patches. Clean. Leaves lube covering behind. No smell. Washes with soap and water.
I then cleaned my Ruger .44. Coated the gun in all crevices, nooks and crannies; used a toothbrush with Gunzilla on the cylinder. Patches in the barrel and cyliner as usual. Then washed everything off with the quick cleaner. A patch with GZ to coat everything with lube and done.
I'm going to try cleaning with a cotton swab attached to the rod, then clean the swab with soap and wate, let it dry for future use. Pretty interesting stuff.
