A little math exercise for the bored:

Write down your autoloaders, add up their respective magazine capacities, and divide the result by the number of guns. Just wondering whether the ratios between Wondernines and single-stack big bores even out in the end. Theoretically, we should see the majority of votes around 9 rounds.

Pre-ban, unneutered magazines are assumed for this poll, even if you don't own any for your particular gun. Round the count off as proper, i.e. 9.49 becomes 9, 9.51 becomes 10.

Bored? Why yes, yes I am.

Seventeen magazines. Average capacity: 15rds.
Five automatic pistols. Average capacity: 10rds.

Word problems? I log on to find word problems?
My answer is: about 11 (11.28). Snuck in a couple hicap pistols w/ mags ;)

what about guns with several widely accepted magazine capacities.....

So what should I put down for my hi-power? 13 for what it was designed, 15 for the south african hi caps that fit flush, or 17 for the ones that don't fit so flush?

I'm guessing that we should be talking in terms of flush mounting mags (no +2's or 30 rnders)

I'm guessing that we leave the one out of the pipe as you said magazine capacity.

so (15 + 16 + 13 + 8)/4 (we'll leave the .22 out of this) gives 13

AAARRRHHHGGG!! I guess the trains meet halfway!

My CZ is designed for 15 rounds, but I can buy 30 rounders, and maybe 40s. OTOH, it can also take 10s, or load single shots...

This is just too much, the only solution I can see is to buy a new pistol.

Low capacity

Hellooooooooooo!!!

I only have one auto-loader (Kimber Custom 1911) and I have 8 mags that are 7 rounders (5 Wilsons and 3 Kimber mags) and 2 mags that are 10 round (1 Wilson and 1 McCormick Star). The McCormick mag is gathering dust as it does nothing but jam. :barf:   The Kimber mags have very rare failures but that isn't an option when it comes to my life so I only use them at the range. The Wilsons NEVER jam so I load them up for the range and for home defense. No CCW in Nebraska............YET!!!!

Heck, only my P-226 and 96D are capable of holding more than 10, and they only hold eleven. The only 9mm I own is an 8-shot single-stack.

I don't know, but last night after bowling 3 games in league, my average first ball count was 9.3 pins, as calculated by the electronic scoring system.
