What's not running up in price?

I'm surprised handguns and other semi-autos such as M1As aren't skyrocketing in price like the AR stuff.

What else out there still remains a decent value/price/available?

It might take a while for the demand to be felt.

In my state (MN) you need a permit to buy an assault style gun. That is, even a Remington 597 .22 rifle if it is the 'tactical' version - not if it is the traditional wooden stock version.

There might be a lot of requests going in for permits to purchase 'assault' style weapons but the demand at the stores might not be felt until the permits are approved - usually a couple of weeks but I'm guessing it might be longer now because of the holiday season and increased number of requests.

The prices on Gunbroker have truly gone insane. I looked after reading this and other threads.

Rock River Arms complete lower halves, which normally go for $365 are going for $1300 right now. At least there are zero bids at that price.

That's just the lower half. I hope they continue to get zero bids. I wouldn't mind another lower but at those prices I can move a couple of pins all day long.

Yes, I do wish my stocks were rising at the same percentage rate that my firearms collection is currently.

I could probably sell out at a 400%+ profit at the current time...

Earlier in the year I sold my Mini-14 rifle to finance the purchase of an AK so I had no use for the magazines. About 6 months ago I tried to sell five 30 rd .223 Mini-14 mags on Gunbroker. I had the auction up three times with no takers, not even at $15 each. I was on Gunbroker last night and saw someone selling a Mini-14 mag that was bid up to $29 (auction still was days away from being over), so I decided to run my auction again.

I listed all five of them last night at 10PM for $100 or Buy It Now for $125. They were gone by 3:30 PM today.

I could have probably gotten more for them, but I don't believe in price gouging like some of these online retailers are doing right now.

Here's something that's still cheap. I've heard that Rossi's are hit or miss, but they're far cheaper and more abundant now than a year ago.

I slightly object with your term of "price gouging." Gouging is what happens when a staple of life (bread, gasoline, water, etc.) is elevated to insane prices during an emergency not because of a limited supply, but because there's a greater demand. What's happening on gunbroker now is stupid panic buying, a supply vs demand thing. Gun shops are pulling what little AR inventory they have left off of the shelves (making the problem worse) to hold onto for a few weeks so they can charge way more. You can judge it as wrong or right, but there is a good chance that they will not be able to get as many ARs on shipment tomorrow (or whenever the next one comes) as they got last week. If they receive fewer ARs, then they move fewer ARs. If they move fewer ones, then they will make less money unless the profit margin goes up. I'm sure the gun companies are also charging a premium just to get in on the goodies as well. After all, a staple of their inventory may vanish in a few months (I doubt it, but there is a remote chance). So the LGS is being charged a little more to get fewer rifles. He has to make approximately the same amount of money to pay the bills and live. Long story short? He has to charge more. Possibly way more depending on the supply. It is what it is. If you don't need an AR, then don't buy one right now (unless you think it's your last chance, then go ahead).

I don't think an AWB could be implemented right now because of the current makeup of the House of Representatives. Just not gonna happen next week, next month, and probably not anytime next year. I'm confident that ARs will come down in price after all of the panic buying is done and supply is back to normal. The problem is, it's not the gun shops or gunbroker dealers who are to blame. It's the panic buyers. Like it or not, that is what it is.

The prices going up has been going on for some time ..... it is not so much the price going up as it is the value of the Dollar going down .....

..... supply and demand: when you print money out of thin air, and er'body has lots of it, then each dollar is worth less.... repeat and it is worth even less ...... repeat often enough, and the worth and the less get closer together until they meet..... and you have a bunch of money that nobody wants...... It's Coming. We did QE III, and now we are noteven counting any more.

I hope you have what you need.

What are the prices like for reloading supplies? Have they skyrocketed too?

I just got a couple pounds of powder and a flat of primers the other night. Its not increased in price, but its getting scarce....

In Mn., if you have a carry permit, you can buy any gun you want.
No waiting, just a background check when you purchase the gun.

In Mississippi, if you have a Carry Permit, there is no waiting, and no background check.

Walk into the gun shop, pick out the gun (pistol, shotgun, military-style rifle, whatever), fill out the Form 4473, pay for it, and walk out.

Cabelas was having a black powder sale. I got a hawken .50 for $400. When I was stationed in TX my old squad leader carried a new army black powder .44 concealed everywhere legally with no CCL. I figure they aren't the most tactical things, and I don't know a whole lot about these speculative bans, but if all hell breaks loose technically they'll be the last things to go I think.
