A BILL
To make illegal the sale of guns, ammunition, or explosives between private individuals over the Internet.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Electronic Commerce Crime Prevention and Protection Act'.

SEC. 2. PROHIBITIONS ON USES OF THE INTERNET.

(a) IN GENERAL- Chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:

`Sec. 931. Prohibition on using the internet to obtain or dispose of a firearm, ammunition, or explosives

`(a)(1) It shall be unlawful for any person, in a circumstance described in paragraph (2), to knowingly make, print, or publish, or cause to be made, printed, or published, any notice or advertisement seeking or offering to receive, exchange, buy, sell, produce, distribute, or transfer a firearm, ammunition, or explosive materials (as defined in section 841(c)).

`(2) The circumstance referred to in paragraph (1) is that--

`(A) the person knows or has reason to believe that the notice or advertisement will be transported in interstate or foreign commerce by computer; or

`(B) the notice or advertisement is transported in interstate or foreign commerce by computer.

`(b) Whoever violates, or attempts or conspires to violate, subsection (a) shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not less than 5 years, or both.'.

(b) CLERICAL AMENDMENT- The section analysis for such chapter is amended by adding at the end the following:

`931. Prohibition on using the internet to obtain or dispose of a firearm, ammunition, or explosives.'.

2nd AMENdment - "So Be It."
 
I'm not too sure about these, they look like they are stalled in committee. Might want to check. I get my cheapest ammo on line and think what it might do to some of the gun auctions, violation of interstate commerce, or start of end of private individual sales. Geeze what will these chowder heads think of next. Check out the bill about reparation to the "slaves". They want to form a committee to make recommendations for reparation. I guess they have to create "busy-work" to justify full time employment!
 
Judging by a quick scan of "Federal" link at www.vdcl.org. Mr. Moran (of Virginia) is 1) a Democrat (read Liberal), voted for anti-weapons, has F- NRA rating. Not our kind of guy.
