after it had become illegal in California?
Only Beretta, Glock, Sig, and Springfield Armory have approved models for sale now because they paid the testing fees to the state. The following choices are available:
1) Beretta 8357 Cougar - It has a manual safety. It has a steel frame?
2) Glock 31/32/33 - The lightest models in this group. It has hexagonal rifling, making the barrels much easier to clean like HK USPs.
3) Sig P226/P229/P239 - The P229/P239 is the benchmark of the 357 SIG caliber but the frame is non-polymer and cleaning multiple non-polymer pistols is a chore.
4) Sig Pro 2340 - An oversized? but reliable compact polymer pistol.
5) Springfield Armory XD9103 - The newest polymer framed 357 SIG pistol. It has a manual grip safety. Morever, a 5" long slide version is said to be on its way. Not sure whether the 357 SIG version is an afterthought or the XD/HS2000 series was designed from the start to handle 40 and 357 SIG loads.
Which model do you choose in place of the versatile HK USP 357?
