Whats a good price for a G19???

These days, $500 plus tax and NICS fee would be good, although prices vary in different parts of the country. Once upon a time, $399 was the blow-out price for the Glock 19. If you can get anywhere near this mark, you are doing well. You can add around $100 for factory-installed night sights.

15 round magazines are also extra, of course.

I just bought a new G19 with fixed sights out the door for $473 (inc. NICS). But I haven't received it yet. The store I buy from is a one man operation and he charges only $20 over cost. Needless to say, he sells alot of guns.

In my area they usually go around $450-475. Without night sights. Though my local dealer (who is really cool by the way) will order stuff in for 10% above cost for "regular customers". (He sold an M1A the other day, and the state made more in sales tax than he did in profit).

What, exactly, is a NICS fee? I know what NICS is, but it doesn't cost anything. It is free. If a dealer is charging you for the FBI background check, he's lying to you & ripping you off.

He might've meant FFL. I agree with Trevor on prices. About the same now (would be a good deal), but prices are rising and unscrupulous dealers are taking advantage of the 'Glock Fascination'.

Re: NICS fee.

In Nevada, which is a Point of Contact state for the NICS, all FFLs charge $15 to run the background check.

The Nevada Highway Patrol imposes this fee since it is the "point of contact" into the FBI system.

I cannot speak for what goes in states where FFLs contact the FBI directly. Perhaps others can.

Ahhh, I didn't know about the Point of Contact thing. My mistake. I still don't see why dealers in any state don't just call the NICS 800 number & do it that way, but then again, I'm no lawyer. Thanks for teaching me something, Trevor!
