What's a Good Brand of Mini-14 Magazine?

Let me start with a few ommissions:

1. I have never fired my mini-14, so I don't know how it shoots. I'm praying it is one of the better ones (<5 MOA @ 100 yrds would be fine).

2. Yes, I did a search on this already, but didn't find an answer to my question.

3. All I am looking for is a 10 round magazine (I live in California).

4. Unfortunately, I bought some 10 round magazines, but they jam when I just cycle the bolt with the magazines loaded. Most times the bolt just cycles without loading a round into the chamber.

So, can anyone recommend a brand of a 10 round mini 14 magazine? Where could I puchase such an item?

If you can relate to ommission number 4 above, what advice do you have to correct this problem (if it is correctable)?

If you are limited to 10 rounds then www.johnmasen.com is the place to buy mags. These are high quality mags and the minor fit problems have been corrected. Dont buy any used Masen mags, they are probably some of the ones that had the fit problems. New ones should be fine.
 
PMI (Precision Metal Industries).

BTW, Ruger never made hi-cap magazines for the Mini-14. That was contracted out and I suspect that PMI made the magazines for Ruger.

The magazines I ordered, less than 2 weeks ago, were the John Masen mags. They are the ones that don't seem to want to load. I did not buy them from John Masen himself, so maybe I got the old ones :( Maybe when I actually fire the gun, by some miracle the force of the shots will make the mags feed properly (fingers crossed).

I searched the web for PMI 10 round mags, but couldn't find any. They appear to be all high capacity and not available to someone in California.

Mine arrived today, packed very nicely. I will let you know Sunday night how it acted. Unless i cannot resist and rip a clip when it turns dark tonite!! :rolleyes:

I am very interested in your experience. If they do work out, let's keep it a secret until we buy as many as we want before we let the others know ;)

Geez, if I fired off a few rounds when the sun went down, I'd have a SWAT team kicking down my door.:eek:
