Whatever happened to the Ruger MP9?

They produced a few, but the demand wasn't there. Unlike the Uzi, it fires from a closed bolt. Slow RPM (circa 600). Controllable and I've been told that you can write your name. While I fired it at the factory, there wasn't any big piece of paper to try to write my name.

I handled one at the old Second Chance Bowling Pin Shoot in Central Lake, MI. I found the stock was short for me and the gun heavier than it looked.

I tried to talk Evan Marshall, who was working for Ruger then, into letting me shoot it, but he wasn't impressed with the idea. The piece was without a firing pin anyway, and only for show.

I saw an ad for a couple of MP9 dealer samples on www.subguns.com a few years ago.
