If you had your choice, which .22 pistol would you pick for rim fire bulls eye shooting? A Ruger, Smith and Wesson or a Browning Buckmark?

Thanks

Ruger, mainly because I am so familliar with it. Mine was my first automatic pistol and I can hit anything I can see with it.

S&W Model 41 out of the box.

Next, a Ruger - after a visit to a compentent trigger smith. (Depending on the two guns, the Ruger might then clean the Smith's plow.)

I have no experience with the Buckmark - so I'll leave it to others to correct my mis-precptions...

I'm gonna say Browning Buck Mark.

I(my dad) had a Ruger MKII, great gun! I have a S&W 2206, good, but not as good as my Browning Micro Buck Mark. 4" barrel, better then 6" on the S&W.

For bullseye competition? None of the above because they are not competitive. Hammerli 208S or 280, Walther GSP, Sako Triace, and I hear that Pardini has a good pistol as well as the Russians. In the price range that you are looking at I would call SIG and have them pick you out a SIG/Hammerli Trailside Competition 6" that has the smallest group on the test target that they can find. It is cheaper than a 41, more than your other two options, and will out shoot all of them.

I agree with Jeff....up till bout four years ago I would say start with the Pardini, inexpensive and good enough to win with. After doin some high placin, then switch to the one with the highest contingincy awards and shooting contracts. Some used to give Pardini a bad rap for breakin firing pins. Preventitive maintenance, put a new one in every 30 thou rounds or annualy, which ever comes first.
