This year I had to sell a lot of stuff: my '69 XKE that I built into a show car, my photo studio and all the equipment. Things are turning around now, and I thought I should give myself a little something for everything I lost. I figured about $500 would be reasonable, given that I sold $70,000 worth of stuff. Anyway, the obvious "thing" is a new/used gun. I'm not in a "rifle" mood lately, so I got to thinking about a Thompson Center Contender. Also got to thinking about a pre-ban *&* 686 with an Aimpoint scope. But I already have a 586 with open sights that I don't often shoot, and I have two 1911's, so another Kimber or Springfield would be overkill.
How would you go about making such a decision?
