This was sent to me, I think, as a joke this morning on my e-mail.
The Caption on the picture read," We found out , after 25 years of quality deer management, that we had lost our lease, there was only one thing to do."http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=34627&stc=1&d=1217522239

I would hope this isn't a real picture, but it did get me to thinking, what would
you do, if you had properly maintained your lease for 25 years, then all of a sudden, you were told you could not hunt it anymore?

I wonder if the land owner got dollar signs in his eyes.

Looks like they had a good time. Depending on where they are, and assuming this is a real picture, then it could be legal. Where ever they are they have some nice bucks.

I gotta hand it to them, I would be tempted to do the same thing. Unfortunately, if they are managing the lease properly, they have only scratched the surface on the bucks to be harvested. You can accomplish a lot in 25 years, and deer densities that would allow them to harvest that many good bucks are also high enough to harvest 5-6 times that many does.
 
What would I do?
I would remove all my equipment and supplies from the property.
I would then locate all my salt licks and DE roll patches and dig out the dirt I spent money on.
Pull out all feeders and blinds.
Urinate on every deer rub, and trail.

Once the deer realize that all the resources they had are gone, and people have taken residence, they will move on to other locations.

Then I would find a nearby neighbor that is willing to lease to me, and set up shop there.
 
No way its a real picture.

If it was though, I wouldn't let a picture one escape. I'd hunt that land and never tell anyone where I was shooting those monsters. :D
 
Sorry, but deal w/ it.

I don't mean that as harsh as it sounds but, think about it. My friends and I did a similar thing by educating a farmer that he had a valuable resource in hunting rights for pheasant. After a couple of very good years hunting, we arrived to find out that we were too late w/ the money. He was also happy to express to us how we had been essentially screwing him on the value. People do and will get dollar signs in their eyes and
"him w/ da mostest, get the mostest". Hopefully it's not true here.

Nice catch! I was too busy looking at horns to actually look at detail.

Anyone notice the horn on the far right of the picture? It is real long, like maybe a caribou or something.
 
Davlandrum it looks like a leg behind the antler kind of blends together.

There are some funny blurs when you blow the picture up. It appears to be a nice job on Photoshop. It is a cool picture and fun for them, no doubt.
My bet is it is a good blend of photos. One of his friends and the others bunched up in front.
Notice the leaves in front, nice and deep. Still, it is a conversation piece.
