I was watching Friday the 13th (I forget which version) and typical of all hollywood they have this horrible gun scene.

In the scene Jason (The psychopathic killer) is advancing on this LEO. The Leo empties what looks like a Mossberg 12 Guage into him. I mean like 6-7 rounds with no effect. HE THEN DROPS THE SHOTGUN AND REACHES FOR HIS .38. Now if I emptied my 12 gauge into a perp and he didn't drop, I would run. Cause if a shotgun doesn't do it, nothing will.

Just something that amused me when I saw it.

For what I recall [guess not this episode] the guns always knock him down for a couple of secomds...always thought I'd chain him up and use him for ballistics testing. Heck...shoot him-dig out the bullet and he's still 'alive' to try other rounds on. :)

Now..if I emptied a 12g into someone and they didn't drop-I'd run like hell. I'd also do a lot of shooting for the face/eyes/head and joints.

Never could figure out how those people, upon finding their freinds nailed to a cabin door with a pitchfork...go in and take a shower or have sex or sleep. Kinda like ~DOH~

Aren't those the movies where Adrian Barebreast ...I mean Barbeou takes her top off in front of the mirror ? Seems to be her stock in trade . We were watching one of her movies the other day down at the Legion . I mentioned that she could inhale for an hour and never fill up . The women laughed even though they didn't wanna .
I do believe , however that she could stop Jason . Like a deer caught in her headlights .

On a related note, let me raise the old Superman serial question: BG empties revolver into Superman's chest while Supe stands there smiling, then when BG runs out of ammo, he throws gun at Supe.....and Superman ducks?

As long as you're speaking of lines from movies where a character is really up to his A$$ in alligators, remember that old movie in which one of the actors, seeing his dire predicament, says, "Feets, don't fail me now!"

That reminds me of last week when I took the basic pistol/personal safety course. I found out I am left-eye dominant, so I had to shoot 100+ rounds w/my very weak left hand, using a .45. By the last 20 rounds, I couldn't even hold the gun anymore because my wrist hurt so much. At first, I thought, "Whine....I can't use a .45 for self-defense...this is killing me!" Then I realized there isn't a chance in he!! that I'll be shooting 100 rounds into a BG...which brings me to another point of being able to reload quicky...I guess it's a good thing to practice, but, seriously, if I empty an entire magazine into someone and they're still coming at me, I'm OUTTA THERE!!!! :eek:

Too bad they dont make one realistic, say do the begining of the movie with the BG getting gunned down real quick like, and then you realize that it was only a "movie" that the characters where watching in the movie. Would be over too fast to make a full lenght movie outta.Then you could have the bare assed women running and tripping through the forest heading in no particular direction save for the throny branches.

Pilot, if the 12 wont work you can go to the one that is more effective, flamethrower!
 
Cindy, nuttin wrong with shootin right handed and left eyed. Some world class shooters have done it that way for years. Good to practice either handed and either eyed tho, can't always dictate the situation.

Sam...only advantage of bein sighted like Mr Magoo is get to have handicapped plates.
 
After say even 3 rounds of a 12ga:
I would say it,,,,,,then do it ;)
I would do it,,,,,,,then say it ;)
I would do it as I said it :)
 
Movie producers have taken this to heart.

In one of the Jason flicks, a beautiful women is taking a shower in a lonely cabin.

In comes Jason, the women bolts out the door and runs through the woods tracked by Jason.

She stands panting in a clearing and Jason approaches. All of a sudden, lights go on
and it is an FBI Swat team ambush. The girl was bait. She dives for cover and they open up. Jason shivers under the hail of small arms fire but doesn't fall. You hear the cry of incoming and a mortar squad opens up, grinding Jason into chopped meat.

What happens next:

1. Jason's essence takes over a technician or doctor at the morgue where they are studying his parts

Or

2. On the TFL, people denounce the use of a Swat team on Jason. It is seen as a UN plot probably driven by the homosexual agenda to let immigrants into the USA. Janet Reno is claimed to have framed Jason who just wanted to ask the girl for the shampoo. A list member tells us that he thinks he once saw Jason and wonders how he should have dealt with him. One moderator says that Reno has crossed the line in the sand by using military level weapons against Jason violating the Posse Commitas (sp?). If Jason was still in one piece, he would buy him a Shiner. Prayers are offered in the schools for Jason. The Boy Scouts announced their next gay free jamboree will be held on Camp Crystal Lake.

One does have to wonder if a 1911 would have gotten the job done as monsters fall to hardball. Jeff Cooper is quoted as saying that at Orange Gunsite there weren't no Goblins or Monsters.

Massad Ayoob writes an article on how in 13 instances, juries did not convict Jason.

By the way, #1 was the correct answer. Jason was reborn. Always shoot for the head of monsters.
