What would the current........

..........price range for once fired 6mm brass be? The reason I ask is because I purchased a Remington 788 from a coworker in that particular flavor. I found out that 6mm is a pretty expensive "unicorn" round to shoot. I don't reload for rifles, just my favorite handguns and that is done with a Lee handloader while watching the tube in the winter. Slow but what the heck, I'm just sitting there anyway. Used to have a progressive deal going on with my buddy but I found that I pay much more attention to the loads with the handloader. He moved further away and it became a pain to get together for "loading" sessions due to differing work schedules. We're lucky enough to get together for shooting sessions anymore. So he bought me out and I got the handloader.

Anyway, back on topic. The rifle is beautiful. It's easily 99%. Only one small dent in the wood by the bolt handle. If it were a more common round I'd keep it. But since it isn't, off to GunBroker it will go. What I'm wondering about is the brass that came with it. I know my buddy shot it 560 times because the rifle came with 28 20 round boxes of empty brass. I know the approximate value of the rifle because I see what people are willing to pay on GB. And those rifles are a little less in looks than mine. But I'm not sure what to expect for the brass. It's going to go with the rifle. Figure it will help move the auction along. I've done some 'net searching on it. Does .65-.75 a round sound correct? That's a ballpark figure that I've been finding. Much more for fresh new brass. Guess 6mm brass is as much a "unicorn" as loaded rounds.

So is that ballpark figure about correct? Doesn't sound bad since 6mm brass doesn't seem to be too plentiful. 560 rounds would keep a shooter well stocked for awhile. A hunter even longer.

Your price might be slightly higher than the market is willing to pay, but you aren't too far off.

If it were me, I would auction the rifle separate from the brass, but at the same time. I always pay less for package deals than the items would bring individually, but YMMV.

Still searching .......

........prices. Most are out of stock. And I am specifically searching once fired. I will ponder the separate listing idea. You're probably right. I was considering the package deal so it would sell faster.

6x57, 7x57, 8x57, 7.65Belgium are a few numbers that just have not been made for some time as far as domestic. PPU brass is now available in most but PPU does not make 6x57.
The "Political climate" has made it difficult to find many cals since Sandy Hook.
As a result, I ended up forming brass from 30-06 & 270.

I have seen 6mm and 250Savage selling at ridiculously high prices on the auction sites. If you do not want to pay these prices, I recommend making your own.

R-P still makes 6x57. They have been busy making the many popular numbers and will run a limited batch in the future. When they become available again, stock up.

Grafs says they have it in stock at $38.79 per 50 for Hornady. Midway shows ALL makers as out of stock, no back order.
"...don't reload for rifles..." You should re-think that for 6mm Rem. Graf's also shows ALL 6mm Rem ammo as out of stock. Midway does too with no back order. Cabela's claims the have Hornady in 2 bullet weights.
Have a look here. http://ammoseek.com/ammo/6mm-remington
