The tv-show WWYD what if someone pulls a gun in one of their scenarios?

Hypothetical scenario for a situation like this

I mean they are even in a gunstore (the employees are in on it naturally) but it isn't a strectch to imagine that some of the customers are armed is it?

or a situation like this?

They have several scenarioswho are crimes not just moral scenarios.

Do you think they won't show a segment if a civilian pulls a gun? anybody know if there are statistics on how common CCWs are? Do you guys who carry notice alotta people out in the public doing it?

Or is it all fake? some very positive scenarios sometimes that makes you believe in the goodness of people so i'd hate for it to be fake:o

The first link has nothing to do with anyone pulling a gun. It's about a woman who stole jewelry and was dumping it at pawn shops. Can you find the correct link and share it?

Edit: even after reading the rest of your post I didn't realize you were posing a hypothetical(I think) until I read it again. The first line throws you off a bit.

What Would I Do?

Well, first off, I wouldn't watch WWYD.

Oh, wait, I don't.

:p

For me, it's a wait and see. I'm not going to whip out my gat and start popping away.

If the guy wants to wave a gun around, that's one thing. If he starts using it, then that's another and all bets are off.

The best scenario would be to get him the hell out of there with no shots being fired at all.

I'm sure the locale and participants are vetted.

I recall that they did this on one of those scare your friends show on Syfy. They didn't want someone to hose down a fake werewolf. On one episode, they had a fake monster jump up from the back seat and the 'victim' threw a vicious punch into the monster and proceeded to beat it up before he was stopped.

In psychological experiments, folks stopped doing fake bystander interventios for the most part. In one case, they had a guy come into a classroom and steal the teacher's purse. Well, the class had a few older vets who took off after the guy - with blood in their eyes. He had to be saved from a beating.

Exactly. In the case of the jewelry thief, how sure am I she's the exact perpetrator, and not someone who looks similar? If I detain her (particularly using force), I could be in all sorts of legal hot water.

Same for the child abduction. How do I know the "abductor" isn't her father and she's just not being overly dramatic? That could get very bad for me very quickly.

Having a gun isn't an excuse to play Dudley Do-Right, especially when I may not be in possession of all the information.

I recall my daughter as a little one, having a giant fit because I wouldn't buy a My Little Pony. Had to pick her up and go back to the car as she hollered.

I hate to have been shot by someone.

On the other hand, I just missed being there when a guy started whacking an 8 year old with a tire iron and stuffing her in a duffle bag to take her to the torture van. Others stopped him. Would I intervene on that one - sure.

Life is situational and complex.

Glenn, I wish I had not read your last post.

That is just sickening, and I am glad you can report that somebody did stop him. With all necessary force, I hope.

Who thinks 'necessary' might have a high upper limit in that case...

Here's the two craziest things, this was at a upscale hotel. The kid was grabbed coming back from the swimming pool by herself. The way the hotel was built, I would have passed by the incident except for timing.

I was picking up a guy we were interviewing for a job. I'm sure that he would be impressed by seeing one of his potential bosses exchanging in a fight.

Then the law decides to let this guy charge his bail on his credit card and he disappears for years.

My wife and I once found a toddler wandering outside the doors of a supermarket with no one to be seen. So we took the child inside. Nice couple doing it. If you were a single guy - get shot?

youtube is practically flooded with all sorts of prank videos nowadays

some of them go really bad

even if these overreactions aren't justified I got little sympathy for these "pranksters"

they are lucky they've only gotten punched, obnixous brats

I mean a faked home invasion? don't they understand what they are doing?

and sure some of it may be fake but most of it seems legit.

is this considered humor nowadays? it is the bad reactions they want it seems to me. their parents must be proud...
