What will happen to the state AWB when the Federal AWB sunsets?

When I talked with a friend from my favorite gun store during my last visit, he told me that even when the federal AWB expires on 09/13, the state AWB (I live in CT) will still be effective to ban some types of semi-auto firearms, such as AK, HK, SIG, etc.

Is this true? It really sucks, since it means after the sunset of Federal AWB, people could only add some "evil" cool feature flushhider, folding stock, high-cap magazine, ..., but still could not get some type of rifles just because they are banned by the state AWB!

It really worries me that the state AWB might be much more destructive than the federal AWB to our right stated in 2A, and it is more difficult to deal with.

I am planning to move to a pro-gun state. CT get a A- in Brady's grade list, which means Fail in our grade system.

Yes, it's true. Californians are also facing the same thing - they won't even notice when the Federal AWB expires, since they have their own ban on all those firearms and features, as well as standard-capacity magazines.

Join the Free State Project and move to New Hampshire. We'd be delighted to have you up here. We fight for expansion of gun rights here, instead of the rear-guard battle that Californians and so many others are fighting, where only a couple of anti-gun bills making it to the governor's desk is considered a victory.

We came within a few votes of an Alaska-style concealed carry law earlier this year.
